✔️ How does Evo TS Eye Drop work?

It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Apply pressure to the corner of the eye (near the nose) for about 1 minute after instilling the medication.
• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
• Wait at least 5-10 minutes before using other eye medications.
• May cause short-term blurring of vision; use caution before driving or using machinery.
• Do not wear contact lenses until the infection clears up.

✔️ Indication of Evo TS Eye Drop

Evo TS Eye Drop contains levofloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. Evo TS Eye Drop is used in adults and children (aged above 1 year) to treat bacterial infections (such as bacterial conjunctivitis) that affect the front surface of the eye.

✔️ Pharmacology

Pharmacodynamics: Evo TS contains levofloxacin, a third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial enzymes topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase, which are necessary for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination.

Pharmacokinetics: Levofloxacin is a sterile, topical ophthalmic solution designed for direct application to the eyes.

✔️ Dosage of Evo TS Eye Drop

1.5% Eye Drops:

• Adults and children (6 years and older):
  • Days 1 through 3: Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 30 minutes to 2 hours while awake and approximately 4 and 6 hours after retiring.
  • Day 4 through treatment completion: Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 1 to 4 hours while awake.

For children under 1 year, safety and effectiveness have not been established.

• Overdosage may cause transient ocular irritation. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

✔️ Administration of Evo TS Eye Drop

• For external use only.
• Take as directed by your doctor.
• Avoid skipping doses and complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.
• Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it, gently squeeze it, and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
• Wipe off excess liquid.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment. Use within 4 weeks of opening.

✔️ Interaction

Specific drug interaction studies with Evo TS eye drops have not been conducted. However, systemic administration of some quinolones can elevate plasma concentrations of theophylline, interfere with caffeine metabolism, and enhance the effects of oral anticoagulants like warfarin.

✔️ Contraindications

Evo TS is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, other quinolones, or any components of the medication.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C. Levofloxacin should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Levofloxacin has not been measured in human milk; caution is advised when administering it to a nursing mother.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Prolonged use may result in the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. Discontinue use and institute alternative therapy if superinfection occurs.
• Avoid contaminating the applicator tip with material from the eye, fingers, or other sources.

• Store in a cool (15°-25° C), dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
